"Más de 30 años después hay que estar diciéndole a la gente las mismas cosas", dijo Esther Tusquets sobre "La conejita Marcela", un álbum editado por Lumen en los años 70 y recuperado ahora por Kalandraka con unas nuevas ilustraciones de María Hergueta. Y es que un relato que aborda, de forma fabulada y metafórica, la relación entre los seres humanos, por encima de las diferencias, reivindicando la tolerancia y la rebeldía, sigue siendo plenamente vigente. La bibliotecaria y experta en LIJ Nati Calvo repasó la enorme contribución de Esther Tusquets a la Literatura Infantil y Juvenil durante su etapa al frente de Lumen, editando libros "arriesgados" de autores como Leo Lionni, Reiner Zimnik, o Janosch. El director de Kalandraka, Xosé Ballesteros, expresó la satisfacción que para la editorial ha supuesto la posibilidad de unir un texto tan necesario como el de Esther Tusquets con el trabajo de una ilustradora que acaba de iniciar su trayectoria artística con su primer libro. María Hergueta ha modernizado "La conejita Marcela" con colores atrevidos y texturas que contrastan con el estilo clásico y naturalista de las figuras.
